A Rich History

The Epiphone Texan FT 145 has a rich heritage dating back to the 1960s. Known for its warm and balanced tone, this model was first introduced by the Epiphone company, which was acquired by Gibson in 1957 The FT 145 was produced by Norlin, a company that owned Gibson at that time, in Kalamazoo, Michigan until 19703. Production of the FT 145 began in 1972, becoming a popular choice among musicians for its natural spruce top, mahogany rims and back, and three-piece adjustable neck.

Our particular piece comes from the year 1977, during the height of the FT 145's production. This particular guitar is substantial, solid, and is all Maple, which is extremely unusual

.Exceptional Condition & Sound

This 1977 Epiphone Texan FT 145 isn't just a well-preserved vintage guitar; it's a rare find in excellent condition. Its action is superb, making it a joy to play for any musician. But the real treat lies in its sound. As these guitars do not have a truss rod, adjusting the action is very difficult, and the fix is very expensive unless the guitar is in excellent condition and is set up properly. This guitar meets all of those criteria.

The solid spruce top and solid Maple body of this FT 145 are known to produce a warm and balanced tone. However, what makes this particular guitar stands out as it had a professionally installed preamplification system. This addition enhances the already outstanding acoustic capabilities of the guitar, allowing for a richer, more resonant sound when amplified. It's a unique feature that we haven't seen on any other FT 145, making this guitar a one-of-a-kind treasure.

An Unmatched Value

Owning this 1977 Epiphone Texan FT 145 means owning a piece of music history. Its excellent condition, combined with its unique preamplification system, makes it an invaluable investment for collectors and musicians.
